Competition production 5-inch screen will be reinforced. Sharp has been producing 1080p LCD screen measuring 5 inches, will face competition from Japan Dislay Inc. (JDI).


Reporting from Tech Radar, Monday (10/08/2012), starting this month, JDI plans to start production of 1080p LCD screen with a ratio of 443 PPI (pixels per inch) in full scale. Production of the screen is identical to the screen that was shipped by Sharp

JDI is a joint venture of several technology companies including: Sony, Toshiba, and Hitachi. Reported site Tech Radar, HD screen presented by Sharp and JDI will have a better pixel density than existing products on the market or that will be shipped.


For comparison, the Super AMOLED screen Galaxy Note 2 offers 267 PPI, iPhone 5 with 326 PPI, and the Galaxy S III is present with 306 PPI.

Handheld device with a 5-inch screen is predicted become the industry standard for smartphones in 2013. For example, HTC is reportedly working on new products that phablet with 5-inch screen, as well as several other brands such as HTC and Samsung.
